Indira Gandhi's arrest; also participated in all other movements organised by Congress (I) from time to time; Block Pramukh and General Secretary, District Congress Committee and City Congress Committee, Mirzapur; Chairman, Health Committee Zila Parishad, Mirzapur; Member, (i) Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, 1974-81 and (ii) Member, Seventh Lok Sabha, 1981-84. Social activities: Working for forging unity among farmers, Harijans and Adivasis and rendering service to them; founded several educational institutions and looking after their management; engaged in efforts for the development of rural areas.
