Kirti Kureel, February 29, 1968; 1 s. and 1 d.; Agriculturist, Scientist—Solar Energy; worked as Senior Scientific Assistant in Central Build in Research Institute, Roorkee till February 1977. Social activities: Active social worker; redressing the grievances of Scheduled Castes and other downtrodden people: ex-President Prabuddha Ambedkar Cultural Institute and Scheduled Castes Employees' Association. Special interests: Utilisation of solar and waste energy for production of power; soil exploration work; working for social and economic justice for the masses. Accomplishment in letters, art and science: During service invented a device for utilising waste heat for production of electricity, for which patent was applied for and granted; developed a device for measuring soil pressure and solved many problems relating to soil pressure, produced electricity by using difference of temperature. Publications: Published papers; received best-paper award from Indian Geotechnic journals; receiving royalty also. Sports and clubs: Volleyball, football and Kabaddi.
