Shrimati Gayatri Dwivedy, January 29, 1948, but now a widower; 1 d.; wholetime political worker; for sometime was a working journalist; Member, Indian National Congress, 1930—48; Secretary, Cuttack D.C.C., 1940—44; Member,— (i) All India Congress Committee, 1940—48; (ii) Congress Socialist Party, 1934—47; and (iii) National Executive, P.S.P., since 1947; Deputy Chairman, P.S.P., 1956—62; Imprisoned for more than seven years in connection with the freedom struggle, the Quit India movement etc.; Member-Delegate, Asian Socialist Conferences, Rangoon, 1952 and Bombay, 1956; Founder, and for many years, Editor of the 'Krushak' an Oriya Weekly; Member, Rajya Sabha, 1952—56, Second Lok Sabha, 1957—62 and Third Lok Sabha, 1962—67; Leader, P.S.P. group in Lok Sabha; Member, Panel of Chairmen, Third Lok Sabha, and Committee on Public Undertakings, 1964—67.
