Question : Training Gaps

(a) whether there is any proposal to map the skill requirement and training gaps, jointly with Niti Aayog;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the extent to which this will be helpful in employment generation as well as for encouraging the youth of the country for new start-ups in the country?

(a) to (c) To assess skill requirements in infrastructure sector, NITI Aayog has formed three sub-groups namely Transport, Telecom and Power to understand Skill requirements in these sectors. The related Ministries have their representatives in these sub groups. The sub groups have several rounds of meeting regarding skill requirements in infrastructure sector. This is a focused approach for understanding skill requirement in the infrastructure sector and would be helpful in understanding employment generation in infrastructure sector and corresponding training requirement.
