Question : ESIC Hospitals as COVID-19 Hospitals

(a)whether it is a fact that ESIC Hospitals were used as COVID-19 Hospital in different states;
(b)if so, the details of thereof including the total COVID-19 beds provided by ESIC in different States, State-wise;
(c)whether after decrease in number of COVID-19 cases and empty beds, ESIC has asked for payment from different States for using its facilities as COVID-19 hospitals and if so, the details thereof; and
(d)the number of States who have paid the amount demanded by ESIC and those who are yet to pay?

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b): The details of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals that were used as COVID-19 hospitals including the number of COVID-19 beds, State-wise, are placed at Annexure.

(c): The ESIC has requested State Governments for reimbursement towards treatment of non-ESI beneficiaries as per reimbursement rates prevailing in the State.

(d): So far, no State has paid the amount requested by the ESIC.
