(b) if so, the details thereof?

Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SHRI OSCAR FERNANDES)

(a) & (b): Under the provisions of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, both Central and State Governments are appropriate Governments to notify any employment in the schedule where the number of employees is 1000 or more and fix the rates of minimum wages in respect of the employees employed therein under their respective jurisdictions.

“Employment of workers employed in sheltered and supported work environments” has not been notified as a Scheduled Employment under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 either in the Central Sphere or State sphere. Further, we have also not received any request for inclusion of this employment in the Central sphere.
