Question : NATIONAL HIGHWAYS IN RAJASTHAN



(a) the details of the National Highways passing through Rajasthan and the amount allotted and spent thereon during the last three years;

(b) whether any scheme with regard to constructing by-passes for National Highways and constructing the bridges is pending with the Government for implementation; (C) if so,the details thereof and the time by which the final decision is likely to be taken in this regard;

(d) the names of National Highways passing through Rajasthan which are to be changed into four lane Highways alongwith the distance;

(e) the extent to which the work has been completed and the time by which the remaining work is targetted to be completed ;and

(f) the assistance provided by the Government for the maintenance of these National Highways?

(a): Eleven National Highways with aggregate length of 4410 km pass through the State of Rajasthan. The details of allotment of funds for development and maintenance of National Highways and expenditure incurred thereon during the last three years are as under:

iii) Jaipur- Kishan- 93 km Being taken up as 6-lane divided garh Section. carriageway on BOT basis and is expected to commence by December 2000.
iv) Kishangarh- 312 km Consultant has been appointed for Udaipur Sec. detailed engineering/project preparation at present and identifying preferred alignment via Bhilwara and Chittorgarh. Detailed engineering is expected to be completed by July 2001. v) Udaipur-Ratanpur 125 km The award of work is expected by Section December 2000.

(f): During 1999-2000, a sum of Rs. 4447 lakhs was allotted for maintenance of all National Highways in Rajasthan. Besides, a sum of Rs. 4967 lakhs was allotted under Special Repairs programme.
