(a) whether there is any proposal to appoint the faculties at the level of Associate
Professors and Professors at the National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped
at Secunderabad to suit the growing academic, Research and training needs of the
mentally handicapped sector;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) The National Institute for the Mentally handicapped (NIMH), with a set of
qualified academic faculty, runs various degree/diploma courses/training
programmes. The Institute has proposed to introduce some new long term training
programmes which will require strengthening of its academic faculty.
