Question : COACHING FACILITIES FOR SCS OBCS AND MINORITIES

(a) whether the Central assistance given to the students of Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and Minorities in the State of Andhra Pradesh for coaching and allied assistance is coming down from 2002-03 ;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor;

(c) the details of central assistance released to the State of Andhra Pradesh under the Scheme Upgradation of Merit of SCs students during each of the last three years; and

(d) the efforts made by the Government to provide quality coaching to SCs, OBCs, and Minorities in the State of Andhra Pradesh?

(a) & (b) The Central Assistance released to Andhra Pradesh under the Coaching & Allied Assistance from 2002-03 onwards is as under:

The level of Central Assistance in any year depends on the number of
proposals received of eligible Field Implementing Agencies (FIAs) i.e. State
Government, Universities and NGOs from Government of Andhra Pradesh. 


(c)	The central assistance released to the Government of Andhra Pradesh under the
Scheme of Upgradation of Merit of SC students during each of the last three years
is as under:-

(d)	The Ministry impresses upon the State Governments to inspect the coaching
institutes during the currency of the programme in order to assess and improve the
quality of the coaching. The educational qualifications and experience of the faculty
members are also called alongwith the proposals to ensure that coaching is given by
good and experienced faculty.
