(a) In the Master Plans prepared by Brahmaputra Board for the rivers of the North Eastern Region,
34 Drainage congested areas have been identified, names of which are given in the Annexure.
(b) & (c) The names of the eleven schemes in respect of which the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) have been
prepared by Brahmaputra Board, are Harang, Borbhag, East of Barpeta, Jakaichuk, Joysagar, Jengrai, Kailashahar,
Singla, Amjur, Demow and Rudrasagar. Out of these, Brahmaputra Board has taken up execution of nine schemes, namely
Harang, Borbhag, East of Barpeta, Jakaichuk, Joysagar, Jengrai, Kailashahar, Singla, Amjur.
(d) The approved Master Plans prepared by Brahmaputra Board are sent to the State Government for necessary
action and implementation. However, Brahmaputra Board has taken up nine Drainage Development Schemes approved for X plan;
out of these, the Harang Drainage Development scheme is likely to be completed within the X plan period by March, 2007
and projection of a time frame for completion of remaining eight schemes is not possible in view of closing of the X Plan
period.
