Question : CENTRAL ASSISTANCE FOR INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT



(a) whether the Hon`ble Prime Minister has declared that one city and one town in each State wanted to be assisted by the Union Government for infrastructural development;

(b) if so, whether the Union Government make it incumbent that the State capitals which have not yet been given central assistance and having less than 10 Lakhs population are selected for assistance under the scheme propounded by the Prime Minister; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a)to(c): The Central Government is considering to provide reform linked central assistance for creation and operation and maintenance of urban infrastructure in the country. Details of the proposal are yet to be finalized.
