Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI RAM KRIPAL YADAV)

(a)& (b): Ministry of Rural Development is implementing two skill development schemes for rural poor youth under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) - Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and Skill development in Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI). Rural poor youths in naxal affected areas are eligible for both the schemes, including in Madhya Pradesh.

DDU-GKY skills candidates for regular wage employment. Further, under DDU-GKY, a special initiative called Roshni is being implemented for rural youth in 27 most-affected Left-wing Extremist (LWE) districts across 9 States, which includes Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. A Roshni project requires coverage of 40% women candidates (as against 33% in a regular DDU-GKY project) and mandatory residential courses (in regular DDU-GKY projects non-residential courses are also allowed).

Under RSETI candidates are skilled for both self employment and wage employment. There are 586 RSETIs in the country, which includes a RSETI in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh.
