(a) the total number of workers provided employment under the Mahatma
Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) during each of the
last three years and the current year, State-wise and gender-wise;
(b) the wages paid to these workers during the said period, State-wise
and gender-wise;
(c) whether the Government proposes to develop any system for creating
awareness among the rural population about this Scheme; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The details of number of households provided employment, expenditure
on wages paid to workers and percentage of women persondays generated under Mahatma
Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) during the last three
years and the current year, State-wise as reported by States/UTs are given in Annexure.
(c) & (d): The Ministry of Rural Development administers several schemes/ programmes
including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for rural
areas. Information, Education and Communication activities for all the programmes of
the Ministry are done in a holistic manner both in electronic and print media out of
the budget allocation for each year for generating awareness across the country for
effective implementation of all these programmes.
