Kamla Panday June 6, 1948; 2 s. and 2 d.; Agriculturist; Political Worker and Advocate; practised in District Court of Motiha and Bettiah, 1945-48; enrolled as Advocate in Patna High Court, 1949; participated in Freedom Movement in 1942, imprisoned for 11 months; courted arrest three times during 1977-79, when Smt. Indira Gandhi was arrested; Deputy Minister of Home, Police, Irrigation & Power etc., 1957-62 and Minister of Industry, Agriculture etc., 1970-71 in Bihar Government; Chief Minister of Bihar, 1972-73; President, Bihar P.C.C. (I), since 1977; Member, A.I.C.C. for the last 25 years; participated in Trade Union Movement, 1946-57; Vice-Chairman, Bihar INTUC; Member, Bihar State Legislature, 1952-62 and 1967-80; presently Member, Business Advisory Committee.
