He has passionately involved himself in reaching out to poor and destitute of the district in particular and the State as a whole by way of distributing relief materials, blankets etc., during floods and cyclones and severe wintry conditions. He is a Trustee of RKJ Foundation, a Charitable Trust which conducts wide spread philanthropic activities like Medical camps in rural areas for free treatment of disadvantaged citizens, setting up Relief Camps for Flood & Cyclone affected poor people, helping poor parents for marriage of their daughters, arranging trainings for poor farmers for better agrarian outputs, educational scholarships, plantations, promotion and encouragement of Oriya artists

He has had several exposures overseas, including heading a Ferro Alloy Plant in Europe.
