ANANTHAN, SHRI KUMARI, M.A., Janata, (Tamil Nadu—Nagercoil—1977):  s. of Shri Hari Krishna Perumal; b. at Agasteeswaram, Kanya Kumari District, March 19, 1933; ed. at Suchindram High School, Madura College and Annamalai University; m. Smt. Krishna Kumari; 1 s. and 4 d.; Social Worker; previously associated with Congress (O); was General Secretary, Congress (O) till May, 1977. Social activities:  Undertook "padayatra" from Cape Comorin to Madras in 1967 to propagate the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi; in 1977, undertook another 'padayatra' From Madras to Coimbatore for propagating; Gandhian ideals.

Favourite pastime, and recreation:  Reading and travelling.

Special interests:  Literature and constructive programmes.

Publication:  (i) Kathal Malar (Novel in Tamil), (ii) Yadumuoore Yavarumkelir (Booklet in Tamil), and (iii) Neengakun Pechalar Agalam (Book, about public speaking in Tamil); has also written many articles and poems.
