(a) whether the Government have received complaints regarding the misuse of railway tickets during the year 2000 by the railway passenger ticket agencies;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the steps taken or proposed to be taken by the Government to check the misuse of tickets ?

(a) to (c): No separate data is maintained for the
complaints regarding misuse of railway tickets by the Rail
Travellers’ Service Agents. However, some irregularities
have been noticed regarding functioning of Rail Travellers’
Service Agents during the checks conducted in reservation
offices from time to time. Frequent checks are conducted on
the premises of Rail Travellers’ Service Agents to see if
any irregularities are committed by them and appropriate
action is taken in case of irregularities detected.
