Question : Electrification of Villages

(a) the details of number of villages or houses connected/yet to be connected with electricity line in the State of Uttar Pradesh, district-wise; and

(b) the details of average number of houses for which electricity is provided in these villages?

(a) & (b) : As reported by the State of Uttar Pradesh, all the inhabited un-electrified census villages across the State stand electrified on 28th April, 2018 under the scheme. Further, the Government of India launched Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – Saubhagya in October, 2017 with the objective to achieve universal household electrification by providing electricity connections to all un-electrified households in rural areas and all poor households in urban areas in the country. Under the scheme, as on 31.03.2021, all the States, including Uttar Pradesh have reported 100% electrification of all the willing un-electrified households, identified before 31.03.2019. A total of 2.817 crore households (including 91,80,571 households of Uttar Pradeh) were electrified since the launch of Saubhagya, upto 31.03.2021.

Based on the requests of States, sanction for electrification of 11,83,870 no. of additional households (including 3,34,652 households of Uttar Pradesh), which were unwilling earlier but now willing was given in July-August, 2021. State of Uttar Pradesh has provided an average of 15.82 hours of power supply in rural areas upto October during 2021-22.
