Question : Borrowings by DHFL

(a) whether Registrar of Companies has submitted a report to the Government about Rs. 83,873 crore borrowings by DHFL;
(b) if so, the details thereof including the sources of borrowings by DHFL i.e. from banks, external commercial borrowings and National Housing Bank etc.;
(c) whether the Government has ordered a probe by Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) after the report of the Registrar of Companies, if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether involvement of some banks and officials have been established; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the time by which the report of SFIO is likely to be received?

(a)& (b) Yes Sir. The Regional Director (Western Region) has conducted an Inspection u/s 206 (5) of DHFL and submitted the inspection report to the Ministry on 24.10.2019. As per inspection report, the company has taken the following loans as on 31.03.2019:

(c) Yes Sir. The Ministry has ordered Investigation of DHFL and 05 other companies namely Immediate Real Estate Pvt. Limited, Tenancity Real Estate Pvt. Limited, RKW Developers Pvt. Limited, Darshan Developers Pvt. Limited and RajenSkycrapersPvt. Limited to be conducted by SFIO vide order dated 06.11.2019.
(d) The inspection report submitted by the Regional Director (Western Region) has not gone into the involvement of banks and officials.
(e) The investigation of DHFL and 05 others as in para (c) above, have been assigned to SFIO on 06.11.2019 and the time for completion cannot be indicated as of now.
