(a) to (c) Yes, Madam; Women’s Empowerment and Livelihood programme in the Mid Gangetic Plains (Priyadarshini) is a pilot project for holistic empowerment of rural poor women and adolescent girls through sustained & improved livelihood opportunities by way of mobilizing them into viable Self Help Groups. Selected areas only of two states namely, Uttar Pradesh (four districts i.e. Shravasti, Bahraich, Sultanpur & Raibarelly) and Bihar (two districts i.e. Sitamarhi and Madhubani) are covered under the project. The project is being implemented through National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). Therefore, no funds are required to be released to State Governments.
