(a) whether the distributor quota is being implemented for the products produced under the Ministry;
(b) if so, whether reservation system is in place for the same and if so, the details thereof, State-wise;
(c) whether the distributor quota has been completely filled and if so, the details thereof, product-wise and if not, the reasons therefor; and
(d) whether any special provision is being made by the Government to fill up the reserved quota therein and if so, the details thereof?

(a)to(d): Steel is a deregulated sector. There is no distributor quota being implemented for steel products by the Government. However, the Government has a scheme for routing the allocation of Iron and Steel material from main producers to Small Scale Industrial units. Under SAIL’s Rural Dealership Scheme preference is accorded to persons belonging to SC/ST/OBC and Persons with Disability (PWD) category.
