Question : KISAN CREDIT CARDS



(a) whether the Government proposes to increase the existing credit limit of farmer’s credit cards;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the credit limit is linked with the land holding by the farmers;

(d) if so, the details thereof;

(e) whether all the Nationalised banks has been authorized to issue these credit cards; and

(f) if not, the reasons therefor ?

(a) to (d) : The credit limit under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme formulated by NABARD in 1998-99 is fixed on the basis of the operational land holding, cropping pattern and scales of finance as recommended by the District Level Technical Committee (DLTC)/ State Level Technical Committee (SLTC). NABARD has not prescribed any credit limit under KCC.
