Question : National Mission on Cultural Mapping

(a) whether the Government had launched the implementation of the National Mission on Culture Mapping of India under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ scheme;

(b) If so, the details and the salient features thereof along with the achievements made so far under this project;

(c) whether the Government has plans to promote destinations that are associated with warriors;

(d) If so, the details thereof; and

(e) the steps taken by the Government for speedy creation of the warriors’ circuit in the country ?

(a) and (b) Yes, Sir. National Mission on Cultural Mapping (NMCM) has been set up by the Ministry of Culture in 2017. Mission will compile data of artist, art forms & geo location with inputs from Central Ministries, State Governments & art/culture bodies. Specially designed data capture form with technical collaboration of National E-Governance Division (NEGD)/Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has been formulated for data collection. Data from art & culture Akademies of the Ministry of Culture has been collected and will be entered into database after due correction.

(c) to (e) Ministry of Culture has not created any circuit related to warriors. However as a part of the commemorative activity, permanent infrastructure of public utility in the form of memorials, stadiums, auditoriums etc are created in the memory of the personality/event at places associated with the personality/event. Details are attached as Annexure.

Ministry of Culture commemorates birth centenary and special birth anniversaries such as 125th/150th/175th etc. of eminent personalities and events of historical importance to the country. As a part of the commemorative activity, permanent infrastructure of public utility in the form of memorial, stadium, auditorium etc are created in the memory of the personality/event at places associated with the personality/event. Ministry of Culture has not created any circuit related to the warriors under commemorations. Some of the infrastructure created/being created by the Ministry in the past under various commemorations are given below:

2 Centenary of Komogata Maru incident 2014-15 A memorial is being built at Budge-Budge in West Bengal in the memory of the incident under its centenary commemoration.

3 150th Birth Anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai 2015-16 An auditorium at Moga (Punjab) and laying of astroturf in hockey stadium at birth place of Lala Lajpat Rai has been under taken as part of the commemorative activity.

4 475th Birth Anniversary of Maharana Pratap 2015-16 A multi-purpose indoor stadium in the name of Maharana Pratap is being built at Khelgaon, Udaipur, Rajasthan.

5 Birth Centenary of Rani Gaidinliu 2015-16 Rani Gaidinliu Cultural Centre is being built at Peren district in Nagaland.

6 200th Birth Anniversary of Tatya Tope 2015-16 A Memorial in his name is being built at Yeola in Nasik, Maharashtra.
