(a) whether the Government is encouraging the preservation of
cultural heritage through art;
(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the steps taken in this
direction during the XI Five Year Plan period, State-wise including
Andhra Pradesh and the amount spent thereon, year wise; and
(c) the action plan prepared for the current year, State-wise
including Andhra Pradesh?

(a): The Government of India implements schemes for the protection,
development, preservation and promotion of all forms of art and culture
throughout the country. These activities are carried out by the attached/
subordinate and autonomous organizations under Ministry of Culture.
(b) & (c): Grants and financial assistance is not released state-wise
but under various schemes. The total amount released by Ministry of
Culture during XI Five Year Plan and the allocation of the current year,
organization-wise and Scheme-wise is at Annexure.
