Question : Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana

(a) whether the Government has decided to implement the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) in the entire country and if so, the details thereof;

(b) the names of the districts in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan covered/likely to be benefited under the said scheme;

(c) whether the Government proposes to expand the facilities available under Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government proposes to amend the guidelines/provisions of the RVY; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has been implementing a Central Sector Scheme namely “Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana” (RVY) for providing Physical Aids and Assisted Living Devices to Senior Citizens belonging to BPL category since 1st April, 2017 with the objective to restore near normalcy in their bodily functions. The Scheme is implemented through the ‘Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO)’, (a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment) as the sole implementing Agency. List of selected districts in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan under RVY is at Annexure-I.

(c): At present, total 325 districts from all State/UTs Administration have been selected for the implementation of RVY and it is proposed to quickly expand to all other districts too.

(d) & (e): As on date, there is no proposal to amend the guidelines/provisions of the RVY.
