(a) whether the Government are aware that a large number of NGOs from Assam
who have been getting huge grants are misusing the funds;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government have set up its own audit and inspection cell to keep a
direct vigilance on the NGOs;
(d) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(e) the other mechanism available to monitor these NGOs for proper utilisation of
funds?

(a) & (b) No organization in Assam receiving grant-in-aid from this Ministry has been
found to misutilise funds.
(c) to (e) The working of the NGOs assisted by this Ministry is monitored and evaluated
from time to time. These organizations are inspected by the representatives of
the State Governments/UTs, Nodal agencies and the Ministry`s own officials.
