(a) whether there is any programme to install multi- fed bio-gas generators in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has separate programmes for the deployment of bio-gas plants and bio-mass gasifiers in the country; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a)&(b): Yes, Madam. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is implementing Biogas Power (Off-grid) Programme, where multi-fed bio-gas generators are installed. As part of this programme, Central Financial Assistance up to Rs. 40,000 per kW is provided limited to 40% of the project cost.
(c)&(d): There are separate programmes for deployment of biogas plants and bio-mass gasifiers. Under Biogas activity,there are 3 programmes namely National Biogas and Manure Management Programme, Biogas Power Programme and Energy recovery from Urban, Industrial and Agricultural Wastes. Bio mass gasifier is a separate programme where energy is produced by the gasification technology of biomass.
