Question : Accessibility of Solar Bulbs

(a) the list of programmes run by the Government to make renewable energy like solar bulbs, accessible to poor households; and
(b) if so, the details thereof with special reference to Rajasthan?

(a)& (b) The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is implementing the following schemes to make renewable energy accessible to individual household including poor households in the country, including in the State of Rajasthan:

(i) Rooftop Solar (RTS) Programme Ph-II where Central Financial Assistance (CFA) upto 40% of the benchmark cost is provided for installation of RTS plant upto 3 kW capacity and CFA up to 20% of the benchmark cost for RTS plant of capacity beyond 3 kW and up to 10 kW.

(ii) Under the New National Biogas and Organic Manure Programme, CFA is provided for setting up of biogas plants of size from 1 cubic metre to 25 cubic metre. The CFA for installation of small biogas plant varies from Rs. 7500/- per plant of size1 cubic metre to Rs. 35,000/- per plant of size 25 cubic metre.
