(a) whether a team of the National Commission for Women (NCW) visited Nari Niketan, Dehradun after reports of widespread corruption, mismanagement, alleged trafficking and exploitation of women living there, come to light;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the NCW team has submitted any report in this regarding to the Government;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the action taken by the Government on this report?

(a) & (b) : The National Commission for Women (NCW) had taken suo-motu cognizance of media report on ‘Involuntary abortion and sexual abuse in Nari Niketan’, Dehradun and constituted an inquiry committee to probe the matter. The NCW as per its mandate has forwarded the observations/recommendations of the report to the concerned State Government for appropriate action.
