Question : Relief to Small Entrepreneurs

(a) whether the Government is considering to provide relief to the small entrepreneurs seriously;

(b) if so, whether the Government has taken any steps in this direction so far;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d): The Ministry runs various schemes and programmes and initiatives for the promotion, development and enhancing the competiveness of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector. These initiatives are reviewed from time to time for the advantage of MSME sector. Eligible small enterprises also take benefit/relief from these interventions. In this regard, the following Schemes may be mentioned:
• Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme
• Credit Guarantee Trust for MSE
• Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme
• Public Procurement Policy
• Online portals such as Samadhan, Sampark, Sambandh, TReDS and GeM

Moreover, an economic package was also announced under Atmanirbhar Bharat for MSMEs, which has been a great relief to overcome the adverse effects of lockdown due to COVID 19.
