Question : PMGSY in Bihar

(a) the details of roads constructed in kilometers under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Bihar, particularly in Jehanabad, Arwal and Gaya Districts;

(b) the quantum of funds sanctioned and released for the projects along with the status of their completion;

(c) whether roads are being planned/ approved/under consideration for the upcoming projects in the State; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a)& (b) So far under various interventions/verticals of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), a total of 53,269 km of road length has been constructed in the state of Bihar. Further the total value of projects (VoP) sanctioned to state is Rs. 34,651 crore against which a sum of Rs 27,564 crore including State Share of Rs 4,698 crore has been released so far. A sum of Rs 27,018.20 crore has been spent so far by the State Government out of the fund released.

The details relating to value of projects sanctioned, road length constructed and expenditure made against different verticals of PMGSY in Jehanabad, Arwal and Gaya districts are as under:-

(c) & (d) The Government approved PMGSY-III in July, 2019 for consolidation of 1,25,000 Km Through Routes and Major Rural Links connecting habitations, inter-alia, to Gramin Agricultural Markets (GrAMs), Higher Secondary Schools and Hospitals. A target length of 6162.50 km has been allocated to Bihar under PMGSY-III. Further, the State has been allocated additional road length of 220 Km under RCPLWEA. The State Government has been asked to prepare detailed project reports for their allocated target under PMGSY-III and RCPLWEA.
