Question : INSTALLATION OF GAUGE RECORDER



(a) the quantity of water being madeavailable to Rajasthan from various water projects/rivers/canals of the country along with the names of projects;

(b) whether the Government is contemplating to install automatic recorder for measuring discharge at control points to ensure availability of water in the allocated quantity;

(c) if so, the places where the recorders are proposed to be installed for making water available to Rajasthan;

(d) whether many States have registered objections against installation of the recorder; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the measures taken by the Government thereon?

(a) As informed by the concerned authorities, the quantity of water made available to Rajasthan from Sutlej waters (Bhakra Dam), Ravi-Beas waters (Pong and RanjitSagar Dam), Yamuna waters (Okhla Barrage) and Narmada waters (SardarSarovar Dam) during the last three years is given below:

(b)&(c) As informed by Bharkra Beas Management Board (BBMB) and Govt. of Rajasthan, 22 number of sites were approved for installation of automatic gauge recorders in 208th Meeting of BBMB held on 21.10.2011. Out of these 22 sites, 7 sites are identified for measuring water being supplied to Rajasthan as below:

1. Kishangarh Link Channel

2. Sidhmukh Feeder at Haryana Rajasthan Border

3. Jasana Major Head

4. Karni Singh Branch

5. Sadul Branch

6. Rajasthan Feeder at RD 15000

7. Bikaner Canal at RD 86500

(d) As informed by BBMB and Govt. of Rajasthan, the decision to install automatic gauge recorders was taken during 208th meeting of BBMB unanimously by the partner States.

(e) Does not arise in view of (d) above.
