(a) whether the Government proposes to set up technology institutes for promotion of science and technology and make them accessible to the students in the country, particularly in Bihar;
(b) if so, whether such institutes are proposed to be set up in Sitamarhi of Bihar;
(c) if so, the time by which these are likely to be set up; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): Ministry of Science and Technology has 80 autonomous institutes under its administrative control for promotion of science and technology. These institutes facilitate emerging and frontline areas of research by involving students and researchers. However, as of now there is no proposal to set up any new Institute in the near future, including in Bihar.
(c) Does not arise.
(d) While Ministry of Science & Technology does not have any such proposal, several other prominent Institutions like National Institute of Technology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, Patna), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT, Patna), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT, Bhagalpur) & National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER, Hajipur), have already been set up in Bihar by other Ministries of Government of India.
