Question : Unutilised funds Under ICDS Scheme


(a) whether the funds allocated under ICDS scheme remained unutilized by various States during the last three years;
(b) if so, the details thereof and reasons therefor, State-wise and year-wise; and
(c) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (b) : Any unutilized fund / excess expenditure incurred during a particular year under Anganwadi Services Scheme is adjusted in the allocation/release of the succeeding year. Details of the unutilized funds available / excess expenditure incurred as on 31st March of each of the previous three years is at Annex.

(c): Due to various administrative reasons, some funds may remain unspent with the State/UT Governments. However, States/UTs are advised to utilise the funds allocated under various components of Anganwadi Services Scheme as per the cost norms for better implementation of the scheme.
