THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT (SHRI SAUGATA ROY)

(a): DDA has informed that a stretch of pavement-cum-footpath constructed in the year 2001 in Dwarka in front of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology has caved in at two places due to rusting of reinforcement.

(b): DDA has also informed that it has been decided to engage a consultant to assess the cause of failure.

(c) & (d): DDA has further informed that shuttering work has been completed. Placing of reinforcement is in progress and the slab shall be casted shortly. Expenditure for this work would be approximately Rs.4.2 lacs only. To ensure that rusting of reinforcement does not take place, it has been decided to apply anticorrosive treatment to the reinforcement, as per the Technical Circular Nos. 603-608 issued by DDA.
