Question : Investment and Induction of Modern Rakes

(a) whether the railways has invited applications for investment and induction of modern rakes over select railways routes through Public Private Partnership (PPP);

(b) if so, the details of the applicants, railway routes and trains which are likely to be operated by private players;

(c) whether the fares of the train tickets are likely to increase as a result of this privatization move;

(d) if so, the details thereof;

(e) if not, the likely fares of train tickets on these routes;

(f) whether subsidies are likely to be retained for citizens from various categories in railways who are likely to travel on these routes; and

(g) if not, the reasons therefor?
