Question : Information on Employment Opportunities

(a) whether the Goverment has any mechanism to provide information regarding employment opportunities to the students who have completed matriculation, Graduation, Post-Graduation and other skill oriented courses;

(b) if so, the details regarding the number of students getting employment through this mechanism along with the number of students who were admitted in these courses after 2015, year-wise;

(c) if not, whether the Government has any proposal to set up such mechanism; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d) The Ministry of Labour & Employment has launched a Mission Mode Project called National Career Service (NCS) on 20th July 2015. NCS is a one-stop solution that provides a wide array of employment and career related services to the citizens of India. It works towards bridging the gap between jobseekers and employers, candidates seeking training and career guidance, agencies providing training and career counselling. The NCS project reaches out to the people of this country through its three essential pillars i.e. a well-designed ICT based portal which is NCS portal, Country wide set up of Model Career Centers and Inter linkage with all the states through employment exchanges. The digital centralized portal provides a wide range of career related services including job search, job matching, rich career content, career counselling, information on Job Fairs, services of local service providers like drivers, plumbers, etc. for households and other skilled workers. This portal facilitates registration of Job Seekers, Employers, Skill Providers, Career Counsellors, Local Service Providers (LSP’s), Career Centers, Placement Organisations, Households (for availing the services of the LSP’s) and Government Departments.




The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been implementing Pradhan Mantri Kaushal VikasYojana 2016-20 with an objective to provide skilling to one crore people. Year wise details of persons enrolled and placed are given below:-
