Question : Gas Pipeline Network

(a) whether the Government is working on any scheme to supply gas through pipeline in all cities of the country and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the number of gas pipeline projects proposed in the country, State/UT-wise;
(c) whether there is a proposal of gas pipeline projects in Jagdishpur - Haldia - Paradip in the country and also in Rajasthan and if so, the details thereof and the time by when the said projects are likely to be started and the reason for delay in execution of the said projects;
(d) the names of cities and industries which are likely to be supplied gas through pipeline under the said project in Jharkhand, Bihar and Rajasthan; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is the authority to grant authorization to the entities for the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) network in Geographical Areas (GAs) as per PNGRB Act, 2006. PNGRB identifies the Geographical Areas (GAs) for the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) network depending on the natural gas pipeline connectivity/natural gas availability and techno-commercial viability. With the completion of 10th CGD Bidding Round in this year, the coverage of CGD network has been extended to 228 GAs, covering 406 districts spread over 27 States/Union Territories (UTs) in the country.
(b) Details of ongoing/approved Natural Gas Pipeline in the country are at Annexure.
(c) to (e) GAIL is executing Jagdishpur -Haldia -Bokaro-Dhamra natural gas pipeline (JHBDPL) which is being constructed as per schedule and as per the current progress, there is no delay. This pipeline will pass through the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. This pipeline enables the gas supply en-route to the GAs authorized by PNGRB in 9th & 10th CGD bidding rounds including following GAs in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand:

Aurangabad, Kaimur & Rohtas Districts, Begusarai District, Gaya & Nalanda Districts,Araria, Purnia, Katihar and Kishanganj Districts, Arwal, Jehanabad, Bhojpur and Buxar Districts, Khagaria, Saharsa and Madhepura Districts, Lakhisarai, Munger and Bhagalpur Districts, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Saran and Samastipur Districts, Patna District
Bihar & Jharkhand
Nawada and Koderma Districts, Sheikhpura, Jamui and Deoghar Districts
Jharkhand
Bokaro, Hazaribagh & Ramgarh Districts, Giridih & Dhanbad Districts, Chatra and Palamu Districts, Seraikela-Kharsawan District, West Singhbhum District, East Singhbhum District, Ranchi District
Major industries in the state of Jharkhand and Bihar which are likely to get gas through JHBDPL are Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited, Sindri; Steel Authority of India Limited, Bokaro; Central Coalfield Limited, Ranchi; Jindal Steel & Power, Ranchi; Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited (HFCL), Barauni; Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Barauni and City Gas Distribution en-route of JHBDPL.
JHBDPL does not pass through the state of Rajasthan. The approved/ongoing natural gas pipelines passing through Rajasthan are mentioned at serial number 5 & 6 in Annexure.
