(a) whether the wind energy and tidal energy have been brought under subsidy cover by the Union Government;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Union Government is also providing any subsidies for the consumption of new and renewable energy; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): At present no capital subsidy is provided for installation of wind power projects or tidal energy projects. However, under Small Wind and Hybrid Energy Programme Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) provides central financial assistance to the community users at the rate of Rs 1 lakh /kW for installation of small wind energy system.
(c) & (d): Government do not provide subsidy for the consumption of new and renewable energy. However, for the promotion of renewable energy, Government under various schemes and programmes provides subsidies which are based on the total cost of the renewable energy plant/projects.
