(a) whether the Union Government has any proposal for setting up of more national institutes of petroleum technology in near future in the country;and

(a) & (b) The Government is setting up the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) at Jais, Rae Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh as an ‘Institute of National Importance’ under the RGIPT Act, 2007. A centre of the Institute is being set up at Sibasagar, Assam. Presently, there is no proposal for setting up of more national institutes of petroleum technology.
