Question : TRAIN HALTS STOPPAGES



(a) whether a number of trains running through North to South Kerala has no stoppage at Coimbatore Junction in Tamil Nadu;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor and the steps taken by the Railways to provide stoppage at Coimbatore;

(c) the details of the passenger/express/mail trains whose stoppages have been cancelled under Maldah Rail Division of Bhagalpur and Katihar Rail Division along with the reasons therefor;

(d) whether the Railways propose any scheme providing stoppages on the basis of profits earned by the trains and if so, the details thereof;

(e) the details of the halts of the all superfast trains passing through Mirzapur, Train No. 12295/96, 11067/68 and 12167/68 at Maihar and Deoghar-Dumka train halt at Dhanpadiha and Sarsa which are under consideration with the Railways for the last two years; and

(f) whether the Railways propose for stoppage of Patna Rajdhani at Mirzapur and if so, the details thereof?

(a)Trains running from northern part of Kerala to southern part of Kerala do not run through Coimbatore station.

(b) Does not arise.

(c) Indian Railways have not withdrawn stoppage of Passenger/Express/Mail trains in Malda and Katihar divisions.

(d) No, Madam.

(e) At present, 14 pairs of superfast trains are passing and having stoppage at Mirzapur, and 12295/12296 Patna-Banglore Sanghmitra Express, 11067/11068 Lokmanya Tilak(T)-Rae Bareli/ Faizabad Saket Express and 12167/12168 Lokmanya Tilak(T) –Varanasi Express have no stoppage at Maihar .

The proposal regarding opening of two halt stations at Dhanpadiha and Sirsa on Deoghar- Dumka railway line has not been found commercially viable.
