Question : Mobile Monitoring System under MGNREGS

(a) whether the Government has extended Mobile Monitoring System (MMS) to all Gram Panchayats to monitor works/projects under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether technical or supervisory personnel deputed under the MGNREGS are able to monitor live data from the worksites besides locations of assets with geo-tagging for easy verification under MMS and if so, the details of its efficacy; and

(c) the extent to which MMS has led to bring transparency in the MGNREGS?

(a)to(c): Mobile Monitoring Systems (MMS) has been introduced in 35000 Gram Panchayats (GPs) to empower GPs and implementation agencies with live data from the worksites and allow an online and real-time updation of database for complete transparency. MMS is under implementation phase. State/UT-wise list of number of GPs sanctioned and identified for implementation of MMS is given in Annexure.
