(a) the number of NGOs recognised for the watershed projects during the last three
years, State-wise especially in Maharashtra;
(b) the number of NGOs proposed to be recognized for these projects this year,
State-wise;
(c) whether the watershed programmes undertaken by the NGOs in various parts of
the country are steeped in corruption, in the absence of physical audits;
(d) if so, the facts and details thereof;
(e) whether the grants for watershed development programmes given by the Union
Government to NGOs have been siphoned off;
(f) if so, the details thereof;
(g) whether any physical verification of proper use of grants have been undertaken
by the Government so far; and
(h) if not, the steps taken by the Government to check the role of NGOs who are
siphoning off funds?
