) whether any survey has been conducted to assess the number of destitute women and children living in the country;
(b) if so, the number of such women and children living in the benefitted country along with the number of women and children rehabilitated across the country during the said period; and
(c) if not, the reasons thereof?

(a) to (c) The Govt. of India has not conducted any survey to assess the number of destitute women and children living in the country. However, the Ministry of Women and Child Development is implementing schemes for rehabilitation of destitute women and children. The details of the schemes are as under:-

SwadharGreh:- It envisions a supportive institutional framework for women victims of difficult circumstances so that they could lead their life with dignity and conviction.It envisages providing shelter, food, clothing and health services as well as economic and social security for them along with facilitating their emotional and economic rehabilitation into the society. The number of women benefitted under the scheme is12,908 during the year.
Child Protection Services:-It is for supporting of children in difficult circumstances, as envisaged under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Central Government is managing “Child Protection Services” under Integrated Child Development Scheme and providing financial assistance to the States/UTs on sharing pattern for, inter-alia, undertaking a situational analysis of children in difficult circumstances, for setting up and maintenance of various types of Child Care Institutions (CCIs). Under the scheme, institutional care is provided through CCIs, as a rehabilitative measure. In these CCIs, children are provided age appropriate education either within the institution or outside in a formal education system through convergence with other schemes and programs of the Government or civil society. The number of children benefitted under the scheme is 66,043 during the year.
