(a) whether the State Government of Maharashtra has included Lingayat community/caste in the OBC category and has also recommended to the Union Government to grant minority status to the community; and
(b) if so, the decision taken by the Government in the matter?

(a): Yes, Sir. The Government of Maharashtra has included the community in the OBC category. No proposal/recommendation to grant minority status to the Lingayat Community has been submitted to Union Government by the Government of Maharashtra.
