Question : QUESTION ZODIAC CLOTHING COMPANY LIMITED .



(a)whether the Government are aware that Zodiac Clothing Company Limited, Mumbai, has violated the mandatory provisions of Section 217(2A) of the Companies Act 1956 and has not disclosed the name of employees drawing salary etc. more than that those prescribed in law in that those prescribed in law in their Annual Reports during the past many years ending March 31,1999 and March 31,2000;

(b)if so, whether this fact was brought to the notice of the Department of Company Affairs; and

(c)if so, the action taken by the Government against the said company`?

Answer (a), (b) & (c) Yes sir, violation of the provisions of Section 217(2A) of the Companies Act, 1956 was brought to the notice of the Department of Company Affairs in respect of the Director`s Report for the year 1999-2000. The Department ordered prosecution for violation of the aforesaid section. The company has denied the violation. Matter has been referred to the Department of Legal Affairs for their opinion. Their report is awaited.
