(a)&(b): The total length of Broad Gauge and Metre Gauge rail lines (route kilometres) in North East Region (latest available as on 31.3.2003) is given below:-

(c) The work of new line from Harmuti to Itanagar (33 kms) is already included in the budget. However, State Government of Arunachal Pradesh requested for change of alignment of the new line from Bedeti to Itanagar (45 kms) in lieu of Harmuti - Itanagar. The survey for this changed alignment is in progress. An amount of Rs. 2 crore has been provided for this project in the budget 2004-05.
