(a) to (c) The Lower Pen Ganga Project was earlier received in Central Water Commission (CWC) in August 1982. This project was sent back to project authorities in July 1987 due to non compliance of observations of CWC. Subsequently, the Government of Maharashtra submitted a fresh preliminary report on the project to CWC in November 2006. This preliminary report was examined in CWC and the comments on various aspects were sent to the project authorities in March 2007 for compliance, which is still awaited from the State Government of Maharashtra.
