Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD & PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (PROF. K.V. THOMAS)

(a) to (c): Yes, Madam, ICAR was asked for advice on an allegation made that a paper published in Journal of Analytical Science had been plagiarized from another journal. The matter was examined by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in regard to ‘Monitoring of Pesticide Residues in summer Fruits and Vegetables from Kanpur, India’ (Paper No.1) and ‘Analysis of Pesticide Residues in Fruits and Vegetables from different mandis of Delhi’ (Paper No.2). It was noticed that the author of the paper No.2 has reported the same residue data of the same twelve pesticides as reported by the author of paper 1. It was therefore concluded that Paper No.2 appears to be the plagiarized version of Paper.1, and ICAR conveyed this opinion accordingly.
