(a): Renewable energy projects of 62.85 GW of cumulative capacity have already been set up in the country up to December 2017 for sustainable development. The state-wise & source-wise details of grid connected renewable energy installed capacity is given in Annexure I.
The Government has set a target for installing 175 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by the year 2022. Out of 175 GW, 100 GW would be solar, 60 GW would be wind, 10 GW would be Biomass and 5 GW would be Small Hydro capacity.
(b): The major renewable energy sources from which grid connected renewable energy is being generated are Solar, Wind, Small Hydro Power and Biomass. Source-wise, year-wise and state-wise generation of electricity from such sources during the last three years and the current year are given in Annexure-II.
